Advanced Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is considered minimally invasive surgery. It uses a small lighted camera to gain access to places that were only accessible via large incisions. In general surgery, the first widespread use of laparoscopy was for gallbladder surgery. Since that time laparoscopy is used in surgery all over the body to include gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery, GERD surgery, thoracic surgery, thyroid surgery, gastric bypass and cancer surgery. Here at Clermont Surgical Associates, Dr Jason Boardman has trained in all of these. He utilizes this approach when it is in the best interest of our patients.
