Sclerotherapy involves injectinig a chemical into visible unsightly veins. It is done as an office procedure and allows patients to continue on with with day.

Procedure:

After identifying the veins to be treated, the leg is prepped with a little bit of alcohol. Using a small needle, the sclerosing agent is injected into the vein and compression applied. Once all treatments to that leg are done, the leg is wrapped in an ace bandage and compression stockings put on.

Recovery:

There is almost no down time with this procedure. After the treatment is complete the only requirement s to wear the compression hose for 2 weeks. There are no restrictions to activities.
